Think Forward.

Think Forward.

Planting Seeds

"The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and sowed in his field; it is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree..."

Matthew 13:31-32

Planting seeds in perpetuity for future generations is the essence of stewardship and enlightened giving. Sharing our wealth, both spiritual and material, is a joy we share as disciples of Christ.

"We give in the present as an act of gratitude. We give to the future ... as an act of hope." Dr. Ryan Moore

A Legacy of Forward Thinking

The Purpose of the Foundation

The First Presbyterian Foundation is a classic example of Jesus' parable of the mustard seed (Matthew 13:31-32).

The foundation was created more than 50 years ago by members who were thinking forward. They wanted to provide a lasting way to support the ministries of the church.  We now have the opportunity to continue that legacy.

The purpose of the foundation is to provide ongoing support in the areas of benevolent, charitable, educational, missionary, and overall operations of the church.

Gifts large and small are shepherded by the foundation. Your gifts can include Birthday Gifts, Honorariums/Memorials, or Planned Gifts as a part of your estate plan. Your contribution will be another “mustard seed” and will grow in perpetuity.

What is a Planned Gift?

Any gift given in a lifetime or at death as a part of an estate plan is considered a Planned Gift (seek the advice of an attorney or financial planner). Your Planned Gift will ensure the continuation of God's work at First Church for generations to come.

How Can I Support the Foundation?

Foundation support takes many forms, from direct gifts to bequests from will and trusts. You may make a gift of cash, securities, property, or purchase a charitable annuity.

What is the Simplest Way to Give?

A bequest is easy to arrange. It is not payable until death, so it does not affect your assets or cash flow during your lifetime.

The Foundation Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees manages the Foundation funds. The Trustees' goal is to rely on income from gifts to do God's work. By managing and investing gifts in this way, the gifts continue to give for years to come.
